As a Regional Chef I've discovered that what you say and how you say it matters. If you refer to a stumbling block as a "problem" or a "big mess," you create a different emotional state within yourself and others, rather than if you were to call the issue "an opportunity" or "a challenge." One trait that all great people (not just chefs) share is that they understand the power of words.
I want to encourage all our chefs to exhibit professionalism on another level by using powerful words. Use words that are positive and motivates our teams to work hard. Use language that illustrates your culinary passion; that speaks to possibility, and demonstrates our role as culinary leaders...because as we all know words have power.
